Founded by comic creators Christopher Sahloff and Drew D. Lenhart in January 2025, Homebrewed Comics is the true definition of indie comics on the brink of something special. A few months later, Dan Price joined Chris and Drew as the third man in March 2025 and Dennis R. Valencia jumped in with both feet shortly after, rounding out this team. We strive to bring exciting and exceptional creator-owned stories to store shelves that are unique but mainstream enough to attract new audiences.
Our titles run the gamut as our imaginations are always running wild! From a super team whose fate is controlled by the roll of the dice (CRIT), a sci-fi space captain on the run from his own bad decisions (Caspian Porter), a super powered hero and his dog fighting kaiju across the galaxy (The Celestial Knight), or a karate-wielding bigfoot hellbent on revenge (BIGFOOT KNOWS KARATE), Homebrewed Comics is brewing up some exciting tales you won’t want to miss!

From the stage to the sketchpad, Christopher Michael Sahloff is a creator who thrives on energy, storytelling, and world-building. A former guitarist for My Hero Is Me (Tragic Hero Records/Sony Red), he enjoys high-impact, immersive experiences—whether through music, comics, or tabletop adventures.
As the creator, writer, artist, and letterer of C.R.I.T. (Constantly Running Into Trouble), Christopher brings cinematic action, sharp humor, and deep lore to the indie comics scene. Every panel is infused with the same passion that fueled his years on the road, now channeled into bold visuals, unpredictable storytelling, and a lived-in world shaped by real RPG sessions.
For Christopher, comics aren’t just entertainment—they’re escapism, adrenaline, and a portal to something bigger. If you love high-stakes action, character-driven chaos, and stories that make you feel like you’re in the fight—you’re in the right place.

DREW D. LENHART

CREATOR OF CASPIAN PORTER
Drew is a comic creator that hails from Indiana. In 2017, he embarked on his comic creation journey, beginning with short anthology stories. Since then, he’s written and created one-shots and several mini-series titles such as Caspian Porter, Gritt Grimstone, De-Aged, Future Sci-Fi Tales, The Monster’s Cleanup Guy, and many more. Outside of comics, he has written numerous flash fiction, short stories, and a novella. His short stories have appeared in Mystic Mind Magazine, Galaxy Anthology, and The World of Myth Magazine.
Currently, he is the vice-president and co-publisher of Homebrewed Comics. His responsibilities include digital distribution and his considerable editorial experience.

DAN PRICE

CREATOR OF BIGFOOT KNOWS KARATE
Dan Price is a comic writer/artist from Austin, TX. He has worked on several indie comic titles including BIGFOOT KNOWS KARATE (Creator, co-writer, artist), Latex Avenger, Halloween Man Meets Latex Avenger, Masters of the Obvious for Hound Comics, and Excelsi-ish! for the Stan Lee Foundation.
Dan brings over 20 years of marketing/advertising experience to Homebrewed Comics and couldn’t be more excited to apply his trade to his passion of indie comics.

DENNIS R. VALENCIA

CREATOR OF THE CELESTIAL KNIGHT
Born in the Philippines and raised in Shaolin NY, Dennis R. Valencia turned to comics, the battle of good versus evil, to get through an unsettled childhood. Heavily influenced by comic legends John Byrne, George Perez and the Image Comics founders; Dennis’ artistic/ creative stylings can be seen in his original series The Celestial Knight & Mama’s Boy: The Psychotic. Additionally, he has done multiple comic covers for Kid Nebula, The Convictor, The End Of All Terminus; plus, Bigfoot Knows Karate, Caspian Porter, The Elements, Winnie The Pooh: Demon Hunter, etc.

JESSE JAMES BAER
Creator/writer, Burlap
Jesse James Baer is an independent filmmaker turned comic book writer from Waterford, Maine. Ever since Jesse was six-years-old he wanted to be a writer. From 2010-2018 Jesse worked on several short and feature length films in such roles as writer, director, and actor. After he spent nearly five years creating his web series Echo Trail for YouTube Jesse changed direction and converted his next film idea into the comic book BURLAP. Re-embracing his passion for comics, Jesse retired from filmmaking and chose a career as a comic book writer. In 2019 Burlap was picked up by Covenant Comics and would run nine issues over its six year run for the company.
After a long hiatus Jesse joined Homebrewed Comics in 2026, re-launching and remastering the Burlap series.
